Cupcakes and football!!
A great study break!
Unfortunately I didn't get to go to my friend's Christmas Party.... I'm sure it was amazing, too. Instead of the usual, friends went shopping together for Angel Tree gifts, came back to the house and wrapped the gifts and watched the Big 12 Championship... What a selfless, fresh, festive Christmas idea! I can't believe I didn't finish my presentation in time to go... I also can't believe I'm STILL working on it. Thank you Grad School for reminding me that I'm not in charge of my own life! BUT thank you, Grad School, for letting me celebrate Christmas with some little ones not so fortunate. I got to help host a Head Start Christmas party at the College of Allied Health... Pictures to come. For Sure. Your. Heart. Will. Melt.
God you are good. Final exams have nothing on you.

Check out my Nick's blog!
As most of you know, Nick is on his way to Nairobi as I type this. So exciting! Keep up with him through his blog.
I miss him already... but what a great "problem". I'm so happy that I get to share him with Africa!!
I love him so much.

It's still fall. I still love it.
I love fall decor! I haven't had much time to devote to the season, but here's what is on my table.... plus grad school books, papers, highlighters, my laptop... Unfortunately it's also my dumping ground when I come in. I'm working on that!
Another tribute to my favorite fruit... the elusive Honey Crisp Apple. My clinical supervisor at school said that it was developed at her alma mater in Minnesota.
She is so proud (rightfully so).
Apples for carmel sauce dipping. Mugs for cider. Pumpkin for roasted seeds!
This fall I roasted some seeds for the first time. I will ALWAYS do this to celebrate the season. Too good.

He wants to wipe your face!
I thought I should let you know, that being the high tech couple we are, my Nick and I have recently designed a robot that will dry hands, scrub faces... and even wipe up messes. You know, all those dirty chores around the house that no one seems to want to do. Here he is!
I know I know. Another grandma hobby! At least this one will help the environment. Nick and I are trying to use cloth napkins instead of paper. YEAH! Baby steps, I tell ya. Oh, and to clarify, I saw a boxy little line drawing of a robot online somewhere and tried to draw something similar on a napkin. So, props to the person whoever designed the original guy. It was a stamp maybe? Not sure. I just had to have him stitched on my vintage napkins. He is a daily reminder of all my friends that run on batteries, eh, um... pacemakers. :) Love you robot friends.

prayers please!
Thanks to a new friend at school, I've been waiting for a few hours of free time to try some embroidery! Goodness knows I need more hobbies! I would post a picture for you, but I'm too sleepy!! Never ending tests!
I took a few hours for myself tonight and missed out on LIFT. So sad! Nick said it was awesome. God really moved. Please keep a young lady in your prayers... One of our students went to the doctor today and they think she might have breast cancer. She's only 21, so young. However, Jesus died for us and by His stripes we are healed. Claim it for her! Nick said everyone prayed for her tonight. What great community. Praise God. Thank you Lord for a husband who seeks You. I get more than I deserve everyday.

Josie is awesome. She is super calm and crate trained!!! She needs you
to take her home. She lives at pets and people in Yukon.

Best friends since 3rd grade
I have a monster test tomorrow and needed to borrow a scientific
calculator... Darcie came to my rescue. What a sweet friend. Even a
note to brighten my day! This is obviously the same girl who stayed up
late the night before a big event... Cheer tryouts, for example, and
wrote sweet encouraging notes to all her friends. I challenge you to
find a better friend :) love her!

3 cheers for cheerwine
Our good friend, Dagen introduced us to Cheerwine last year. We are eternally grateful! Since you can only buy it in random places in the east, it is no wonder that he has a stash in his basement. The most shocking? He shares. Thank you, Boyd family.
Other than the Boyd house, I've only found Cheerwine at Pops. If you've never made the trip to pops, you are totally missing out. I've been only once & already committed to not buying soft drinks anywhere else. The only downside: glass bottles... they're nostalgic & a small sacrifice in my opinion. Make the trip and try it out. You will love it!
