cute as a button

i love my salt and pepper shaker set from my in-laws (i told you they were great)! this little thing has a twin, just as cute.  i like turquoise accents with my cream furniture/dishes...so sweet. i also enjoy how "green" my mother-in-law is. she loves estate sales and i reap the benefits. perfect! happy snow day! i'll post some more pictures soon.

i must make this soon!

rainbow cake? yes, please!

bread?! maybe not tonight....

well, bread baby is still in the machine... what I can see doesn't look to great.... i'm thinking it didn't rise. oh well... i followed the directions the best i could... i'm over it!

today has been icy and freeeeezing, but the good kind of cold with less than knock-you-down wind.
a look outside my kitchen window
*update: my classes are cancelled tomorrow... YESSSSSSS!! looks like i have a lovely crafty night ahead :D also, uh, the oatmeal bread didn't turn out very well... it didn't mix?! maybe i'll try mixing it up first next time... or just without a bread machine.... who knows. at least i have all day tomorrow to work on it!

bread machine

I have awesome in-laws.
For PART of my birthday they gave me their bread machine... she said she doesn't use it much anymore... I'm not sure if that's true, or if they're just being their typical super-nice-selves... either way, clinic was cancelled, so today I'm making bread!
So exciting! I hear it's not easy...wish me the best please!

in school again. blah.

what a sweet baby dog, huh?

i think i had too high expectations for christmas break.  i wanted to craft everyday.  i didn't.  i wanted a clean house to start school with. i didn't make it happen.  i wanted to cook a little. nope. Austin? nope. Nashville? huh uh. Redo the bedroom a bit? not fully. make curtains? the fabric just came in. organize? probably never.

all that to say.... i'm feeling bogged down by a to do list that should not even be in my head anymore. i wish i could have done these things.... but oh well!  i'm fine with not getting them done... the only thing is they are on the to do list in my head!

i need to start over. hmmm.  i've never started a blog not knowing what the post was to be about. dangerous. and probably boring. ANYWAY. maybe i'll post a to do list on here... that way its published and i only post things that are actually do-able. will it
work? i don't know, who cares. i'll try it.

this is not looking good.  nick has only been out of town for an hour and i'm already telling my blog things i'd normally tell him. talking to my blog. scary. My purpose for a blog is to post pics for my mother-in-law and for my memory.  well, stand-in-husband-blog, i love you. have a good day.

isn't he the sweetest baby? he is like this all day...
who needs to accomplish anything when they can
cuddle with this sleeping pup?

On our way home!

Sully spent the weekend with nick's parents in Dallas, while the band
played a gig in eldorado. Sully is so sweet. He loves spending time
with his "uncles". These guys are the best!

thermal pjs

Sullivan has already outgrown these cute pjs, but I just had to let you see them... again... they debuted in a previous post... basically i just had to post these.  Do I need an excuse? No one reads this except me, so I've decided to turn this into a lazy form of scrap booking! So, since I'm basically talking to myself.... I'll stop here :)

Dark kitchen+active puppy=bad pics

weird pic, cute baby, cute booties.

This pic isn't the greatest, but baby Max wasn't too happy and I wasn't too concerned about getting a masterpiece.  I made these little booties a long time ago. I love the earthy look and they matched his lil khakis perfectly!  Super cute baby, super cute family. Just some of the most delightful people to know.

I love him!

A peaceful afternoon

Even my (big) baby dog knew I needed some quality God time. He
immediately came to sit by me when I slowed down. Once I was done
reading he got up and played with his toys. A sweet pup. I'm thankful
for you, Sully!

please note the bling he put on his ear. I mean, why put a rhinestone sticker on a Christmas frame, when it goes so nicely on the earlobe? ha.  This kid was too cute and funny.

Little rudolf girl!
There is not a better way to start finals week.
Perspective is a wonderful thing.

catching up post 1

I haven't posted much goodness since we got the pup and for sure not since finals started... shall we catch up?
YES!
Sweet friend Summer, with her buddy at the Headstart Holiday Party!
The Headstart kids from our area came to campus and had pizza, cookies, brownies, juice drinks and candy!  They each got to sit on Santa's lap. For most of them it was the first time they'd ever seen Santa in person!

YUMMY pizza!  Elizabeth and I had a blast with our little friend.
The kids got lots of little party-favor type toys and even got to take home a huge gift sack of educational (and fun) stuff!

Some of Santa's little helpers from the OUHSC SLP Graduate program!
I'll be posting lots of pictures from this even b/c I just had too much fun.  The kids are so precious, I cannot edit the selection!
